  2. Add potatoes to a large pot of cold salted water and bring to a boil. Cook until fork tender, about 15 minutes.
  3. Drain potatoes and transfer to a baking sheet. Evenly distribute the potatoes then use the bottom of a pint glass or ramekin dish to smash each potato down into a thinner pancake like shape.
